The last time, I explained the reason why we have to do away with blemish. Today, I would try my best to shed light on how to do away with blemish, using Daniel as a case study. You can read the first episode of Daniel Series here
There are three things I deciphered from Daniel and why he had no blemish. In no particular order, they are:
1. HE KEPT THE RIGHT COMPANY:
whenever you hear someone talking about Daniel in the Bible, I’m sure the next thing that pops into your mind are his friends; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. His choice of friends were clearly people who had the same ideology, beliefs and conventions as him. Give me one reason why he wouldn’t succeed and be without blemish!
An armed robber would keep fellow armed robbers as friends because they would be able to help build and support each other. In your journey to getting rid of blemish, why not build relationships with people who are after standing for Christ as well? I do not think Daniel would have been able to stand strong if his friends were trying to convince him to give in to the Babylonians’ demands. Your choice of friends matters a lot!
2. HE HAD A STRONG WILL:
Daniel made a decision, alright. However, the Bible told us that he “purposed in his heart”. This depicts a strong will! He had a determination to stand for God and no one was going to stop him, no one!
The battle begins with you. Before you can stand for Christ to the world, you have to stand for Christ in your mind; with yourself! It is not an easy decision but it is a decision that is definitely worth making. It is one thing to want to stand for Christ, it is another thing to decide and take action towards standing for Christ.
3. HE PRAYED:
Daniel’s decision to stand for God promoted him to be prayerful. He prayed in all situations. Guess what happens when enemies decided to use his prayerful habit against him? He prayed! He didn’t care at all! He was going to pray to God and no one was going to stop him!
Daniel defied the laws of man to pray to God! Surely God wouldn’t watch a faithful servant as such die in a lions’ den. The bottom line is that ” as long as there is you to pray, there’s always him to answer”. I urge you to allow praying to be a part of you. Talk to your heavenly Father and begin to set yourself free from sin and blemish. Shalom!
