One of the most important attributes required of a Christian brother/sister is the ability to be courageous in terms of the many tribulations which we face as a result of our unending love for Christ.
Incase you missed any of the Daniel Series, you can read it in details via the links below;
I’m not going to bore you by defining what it means to be courageous. I would rather explain how much courage and how often we should exercise our courage, using Daniel as a case study.
The first instance where Daniel showed an act of courage was recorded in chapter 1 of the book of Daniel. It is evident that Daniel had always been courageous since his childhood. Being courageous for Christ is a lot of responsibility for Christians and I’m going to show you how much courage we need by reviewing what Daniel did in chapter 1
If you read through the part where Daniel told the prince of eunuchs that he didn’t want a part of the king’s meat, you might not find anything courageous about it and even if you do, you probably don’t see it as a big form of courage. However, it is the biggest form of courage I know yet.
Apart from the fact that Daniel was a child, let us recall the fact that he was a captive in a strange land to the Babylonians! He was a “child-captive”! In those days when a person could be executed at any time, imagine what could have happened to a captive who tries to dictate what he wants to ear to his captors! Most probably death isn’t it?
Daniel, no not Daniel, A CHILD was not afraid to die for God! He knew what he was getting himself into but he ” purposed in his heart” and told himself”God’s got my back”!
This is the exact type of courage every Christian needs to have. Daniel didn’t die as a result of his courage, instead, he was elevated! Isn’t it obvious that being courageous comes with a lot of benefits? It might be a lot of responsibility but the reward is definitely worth the pain and stress.
So stop being afraid to stand for God. Stop standing for God only when you have assured your safety! Do all these and watch God perform wonders.
Jehovah Never Fails!!! Shalom.
