3 Reasons Why Pastors Lie
Ever seen a lying pastor? Have you seen a pastor on the pulpit/altar lying in/with the name of the LORD and even add “I lie not” or “God is my witness” ? Even More appalling is the fact that some pastors even lie that God used them to raise a dead man, restore sight to the blind or heal a mad man. But within the church building they say such is a blind man who they left without even praying for. The big question reflecting in your mind now is Why pastors lie
In this series, I would explain both from what I have seen in places where I have personally worshipped and from things I have seen on the internet-sphere and media, why pastors lie.
NB: We do not criticize or work against men of God, but we use this media to enlighten you on the reasons why pastors lie, then educate on how to avoid lying whether clergy or not
Fund Raising
Do you know that whenever a church brings a guest/visiting pastor to raise fund perhaps for church project, the church would pay him(the guest pastor) a commission based on the total amount he raised from the church?
Yes, whenever church headquarters need money for something vital, the headquarters would send pastors(especially young ones) to different branches/location to raise funds, there is a particular percentage they pay those pastors that were involved in the fund raising. So if you as a pastor raised a sum of N100,000 and another pastor raised a sum of N250,000; the commission(money) paid to the other pastor would be more than that of yours.
Can you decipher in the above, the reason these young pastors lie?. This looks like business, who would not like to have more money? It takes genuine fear of God and contentment for pastor that finds himself in such situation not to lie.
Over 60% of what over 55% of young pastors say during fund raise in churches are lies. There was a pastor that came to our local church then, he started saying all manner of things which include how God blessed him for giving a big seed among others. Later, it was discovered that those stories where lies. Did you know that money is among the reason why people become pastor?
SOLUTION: Godliness and contentment is of great gain. Stop being in haste to chase money
To Appear Powerful
Last month, I was ministering in a crusade, a mad man walked to the crusade ground, I prayed for him and he was miraculously healed. Three years ago, I was in mission in one anti-christian country, they wanted to kill me but I saw a big hand direct me on a path to follow, I followed it and escaped. Two months ago, I was preaching in a convention and HIV positive turned to negative. Just three weeks ago, I prayed for a blind man, his sight was restored instantly. Five years ago, I met a barren woman, prayed for her and now she is proud mother of twins.
Have you ever heard stories similar to the ones above, but suprised the involved preacher finished ministering and nobody got healed amidst the various sick/diseased/disabled people in that church?
Some ministers would testify how God use them to work great signs and wonders so that people who see them as powerful and oracle. This implies they lie in the name of God just to take the Glory which God should take has any of those testimonies happened. Miracles are real, do not allow fake or staged miracles make you think God does not wrought miracles, signs and wonders through HIS choice servants
